The Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen

Hope everyone had a fantastic bank holiday and managed not to get too burned!?

My time was spent in beautiful Wales, between the Gower's beaches and Port Talbot's 'Passion' festivities with Michael Sheen and a surprise live set from The Manic Street Preachers- I was told "something was going on", but wasn't quite prepared for all of that! Brill fun... below, a nice fella we found on the beach! (No crabs were harmed in the making!)

In other news, I am now an associate member of The Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen, who have a fantastic shop in Painswick, near Stroud and exhibit all over the place- very privileged and excited! You can see my profile page here, plus have a gander at the other makers whilst you're there...

I have also been working on a new design as part of my current look at British heritage, a Singer sewing machine in a modern, calming charcoal and screen printed onto pure linen. Available through me and on Etsy! Very pleased with this little number...!

Gosh!

Becca Stadtlander's wonderful paintings are right up my street- I love her sense of unexpected colour and wobbly charm! I had a painting session the other day and was so disapointed/fustrated, I stopped before I'd even started, where as I used to paint almost everyday...hopefully it'll come back!?

Local love

The power of our humble newspaper- what a busy week I've had! A story about my little business venture was published in this weeks Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Standard and everyday since I've had the best feedback; lovely emails and people dropping into the studio to see what all the fuss is about.

The power and speed of the internet is truly fantastical, however, it's ever so much nicer to meet people, for them to see where their buys are created and to have the support of locals- after all, that's what I'm all about! Thanks everyone! Best get making...!

In the midst of the making frenzy I helped the wonderful Lavinia's Tea Party out with a hen party of 14 lovely girls (and boy) at a 'cottage' near Witney, Oxford...only to find the 'cottage' was a 14 sleeper mansion- sooo beautiful! We squealed in disbelief alllll the way up the tree lined drive, then set up the Croquet, Pimms, bunting and cream teas; Lavinia probably has the best job in the world!

We were wondering whether it may have been Kate Middleton's hen party about to arrive...!

Tonight I'm doing a Zumba class- the best fun ever- before heading back off to Wales, have a lovely weekend all! x
